1. Celery Sticks with Almond Butter

Celery sticks with almond butter are a fantastic low-carb snack that you can whip up in minutes. Just grab a few stalks, spread some almond butter on top, and you’re good to go!

Why almond butter? It tends to be less processed and less likely to include sugar than the more mainstream types of nut butter – but it is more expensive.

You can also use peanut butter – but choose a brand with no extra sugar or at least low levels.

Or, learn how to make your own peanut butter with zero sugar in minutes here.

You can also use powdered peanut butter, which reduces your snack’s fat and calorie content even lower – but again, watch for added sugar.

2. Crabvocado

Amusing name, seriously healthy snack.

Just cut an avocado in half, remove the stone and fill the middle with chopped crab sticks or fresh tinned crab. Add a little mayo if you prefer.

The fat from the avocado will keep you fuller longer than, say, leafy green veg might.

You can use any other protein if you don’t like crab – prawns, tuna, smoked salmon, ham, sliced chicken, mashed boiled eggs or scrambled tofu all work just as well.

3. Mini Caprese Salad Bites

What are these – well, just stack cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and basil leaves on toothpicks and you’ve made them.

You can drizzle with balsamic glaze for extra flavour, but remember; balsamic vinegar usually contains sugar, so make sure you add this to your carb count if you’re aiming for a set number of carbs per day. Leave it off totally if you’re doing keto.

4. Coconut Chips with Dark Chocolate

Looking for something less savory? These coconut chips drizzled with dark chocolate are a fun and easy snack to whip up in just five minutes. Just grab some unsweetened coconut chips and your favorite dark chocolate.

Just a square or two is enough if you prepare it in a way that spreads things out. Either shave it so you get chocolate curls, or, melt in quickly in the microwave and drizzle away over the top.

This sweet and crunchy treat is perfect for satisfying your cravings without too many carbs.

5. Radish and Cottage Cheese

Radish and cottage cheese is a super-easy, quick, and tasty snack. Slice fresh radishes, spoon out some cottage cheese and top with chives for a pop of flavor.

The cottage cheese also smooths out the spice of the radishes (see more tricks like this in our guide to learning to love veggies).

6. Pepperoni and Cheese Skewers

These pepperoni and cheese skewers are super easy to whip up in just five minutes!

Stack slices of pepperoni and cheese on a kebab skewer and job done – simples!

They’re perfect for a quick bite or a fun low-carb appetizer at your next gathering.

You can also use other processed meats such as ham, sopressa, salami or even chorizo. And swap out the type of cheese you use to mix things up further. If you watching calories alongside carbs, take a look at our guide to the lowest calorie cheeses to help you make the best choice.

Just remember that processed meats contain nitrates, which aren’t the best for your health, so don’t eat them daily.

7. Cucumber Hummus Bites

It’s a slightly higher-carb option than many on this list, but if you love hummus, cucumber rounds are better for your carb count than crackers.

You’ll find some other, more innovative ideas of ways to swap your carbs for vegetables or even fruit in our guide to the best low-carb swaps.

If you’ve got more time or can make things in advance, you can whip up a batch of Cauliflower Hummus. It’s an amazing, very low carb substitute for the real thing – and tastes amazing. Find a simple recipe here.

8. Cheese Stuffed Peppers

You can either buy these in from the deli counter stuffed with soft cheese like the picture

Or, make your own version.

Simply hollow out some mini bell peppers and fill them with crumbled feta and olives. If you have more time, chop the olives and mix them with the feta.

You can also use cottage cheese instead of feta. Just be careful when you bite it, I’ve ended up with down my front more than once.

9. Ham and Cheese Roll-Ups

These couldn’t be easier – simply spread slices of ham with cream cheese. Add some chopped dill pickles and roll them up onto themselves.

I also make mine with sliced cheese. It’s my go-to low-carb breakfast, as I don’t like sweet things in the morning but have zero patience for cooking anything with eggs!

10. Salami and Pickle Roll-Ups

Staying away from dairy? Salami and pickle roll-ups are a quick and tasty snack that you can whip up in no time. Just grab some slices of salami, roll them around your favorite pickles, and you’re set!

Oh, and if you are avoiding dairy on a low-carb or keto regime, you might want to read our guide to keto-friendly dairy-alternatives. It has options to replace cream, milk and cheese.

11. Egg Salad Lettuce Wraps

Egg salad lettuce wraps are a quick and tasty snack.

If you want to keep them under five minutes of prep time, though, I admit, you need to have preboiled the eggs! However, you can buy deli toppers in most supermarkets – especially in the UK and US – that do the hard work for you.

Just spoon the mix into large iceberg lettuce leaves and eat them taco-style.

As with many processed foods, check the sugar count if buying ready-made – but also, look at the label on your mayonnaise, if you’re making these at home – it can be higher than you might think, and if you’re on a severe keto diet, this might tip you out of ketosis.

12. Greek Yogurt and Berry Parfait

Greek yogurt is the one food every low-carb dieter should have in the fridge. It’s the ultimate low-carb, high-protein snack, and it’s ready in seconds, not minutes.

If you do have time to get creative though, you can whip up a delightful Greek yogurt and berry parfait in just five minutes!

Layer creamy yogurt with fresh berries like strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries and top it off with a sprinkle of crushed nuts!

Remember, berries are one of the lowest-GI foods. While they may contain some natural sugars, these are digested slowly and so won’t send your blood sugar soaring—especially when combined with the protein in the yogurt and nuts.

13. Chia Seed Pudding Cups

Chia seed pudding cups are a fun and easy snack to whip up in just five minutes. Mix chia seeds with milk, your favorite alt milk (again, just watching for added sugar) or even a milky coffee, let it sit for a few minutes so the chia seeds start to soften, and then top with fresh berries or nuts.

While chia cups have a reputation as a breakfast dish, they’re a tasty treat low in carbs and packed with nutrients, making them perfect for any time of day! Find 7 other chia pudding ideas here.

If chia seeds make you bloated, you might want to soak the cups for a little longer to soften the seeds further. One reason for the bloating can be that your body finds it hard to break down the hard shell on the outside of the chia, giving more fibre for your gut bugs to feast on when it reaches them. And this feeding frenzy creates gas as a by-product. Soaking the shell helps make chia quicker to digest, so less gas is formed.

14. Spicy Edamame with Sea Salt

Spicy edamame is a quick and tasty snack that packs a punch. Just toss some steamed edamame with sea salt and a sprinkle of chili flakes for a zesty kick.

It’s perfect for those busy days when you need something healthy in minutes!

So, here are 14 quick and easy low-carb snacks. Yes, they could be way more complicated, but the harder something is to do, the less likely you’ll be to stick to your new regime, so keep things simple, at least to start with.
